THE boy from Liverpool and Australian Test cricket captain Michael Clarke will be special guest at Fairfield Liverpool Cricket Association's forum at Mounties on Wednesday, February 15 from 6pm.
Clarke, 30, played with Mounties at club level.
His talent was spotted early and he was a regular in the association's representative teams.
Clarke joined Wests in the Sydney grade competition and debuted for NSW in the 1999-2000 season at 18.
He made his Test debut against India at Bangalore, in October 2004, scoring 151.
Clarke is now playing in his 80th career Test for Australia against India
The imposing right-handed batsman averages 48.39, including 18 centuries with a highest score of 329 amassed in the recent Test match against India.
Clarke's unconquered triple century lasted more than 10 hours and is the highest ever scored by a batsman in the history of Test matches at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
Clarke is one of three Liverpool juniors to play for Australia.
The other two are former Test opener Steve Smith and off-spinner, Jason Krejza.
Association secretary Peter Moore said it was a great coup to have Michael Clarke attend the forum.
"The forum will include representatives from the FLCA clubs, players, coaches and officials," Moore said.
The Fairfield Liverpool Cricket Association has appointed former Fairfield Liverpool first grade batsman and NSW under 19s team coach Neil D'Costa as its new coaching co-ordinator.
D'Costa, an accredited level three coach, is also the former coach and manager of Michael Clarke.
He said he would outline future plans for player and coaching development at the forum.
"The aim is to provide a pathway for talented juniors and coaches," D'Costa said.
