Rohrer roars for the Lions

Rohrer shines

Fairfield Liverpool batsman Ben Rohrer top-scored with 81 as the Lions defeated Blacktown in the Sydney first grade cricket competition on Saturday at Joe McAleer Oval, Glendenning. The Lions made 5-206 in reply to Blacktown's 8-205 in the 50-overs-a-side game. In their next game, the Lions next play Sutherland in a 50-overs-a-side game at Glenn McGrath Oval, Caringbah, this Saturday, 10am.

Soccer gradings

Austral Soccer Club begins its grading trials on Monday, January 23, at W.V Scott Memorial Park, 6pm. Details: contact club president Kevin Campbell 0410 497 022.

Aussie Cup race

Thoroughbred racing is back at Warwick Farm on Australia Day. The feature event is the $100,000 Australia Day Cup (2400 metres). Details: australianturfclub.com.au.

Wara tah Cup starts

Football NSW's Waratah Cup for teams all over the state starts Wednesday, March 28. The FA Cup style knockout competition is open to teams in the NSW Premier League, Super League, State League first and second divisions and local associations.
