The esteemed editor Eric Kontos is away on leave so sporting sopabox takes a backseat and it's the return of yours truly, Paul Haigh, with a Talking Sport blog this week.
Our opinions on sport can often unite or divide when we chat about our views on a myrriad of subjects.
After six rounds of the NRL I am starting to form a few solid opinions on certain teams and how they will fare in the competition.
The best four teams in the competition in my eyes are Melbourne, Dragons, Manly and the Wests Tigers.
I believe they will be in the top four.
The next tier is somewhat more difficult but I believe if Penrith can maintain their improved defence and get the balance of their team right, they can make the eight.
The Sydney Roosters are genuine improvers and I expect them to make the eight.
You can never understimate the Bulldogs, they have a unique character and just when you think they are down and out _ they bounce back.
To me they will get into the top eight.
That leaves one spot up for grabs.
There will be the usual traffic jam for the finals later in the season and it's wide open.
I am not convinced the Eels cannot win the competition, in fact I believe they will still struggle to make the top eight.
I think the Bunnies have improved enough in standard and can grab the last spot in the top eight.
As the year rolls on, Cronulla, Canberra, North Queensland and the Warriors will comprise the bottom four of the premiership.
Take out a bank loan and have the biggest bet of your life on the Sharks getting the wooden spoon.
The Broncos will also miss out and the Titans to me, haven't improved on last season and are a genuine risk to miss the finals.
Who will make the grand final?
That's the most perplexing question, but history shows since the NRL formed in 1998 no team lower than fourth after the premiership rounds, wins the title.
So for mine, either the Storm, Dragons, Manly and the Tigers are where the winners will come from.
That's Talking Sport, chat again soon.
