Liverpool touch footy players ready for new season

20 Sep, 2011 03:48 PM
LIVERPOOL Touch Association has started another season at Paciullo Park.

The competition consists of 27 teams , in mixed and men's divisions. There are also men's open and senior team competitions.

"Not enough women tried out for a women's competition," said Liverpool Touch Association president Clayton Blackman. "But we're always happy to take extra players and teams."

For the first time in the association's history it has four teams in the Vawdon Cup representative competition which starts soon.

The Vawdon Cup is open to associations throughout the Sydney metropolitan area.

"We have much stronger teams this year and we hope to improve on our results from last year," Blackman said.

Blackman said the support of new sponsor McGrath Subaru is a great boost for the LTA.
