Liverpool players are in touch

24 Jan, 2012 02:03 PM
LIVERPOOL Touch Football Association players are at the start of the new season.

Association president Clayton Blackman said the 2012 competition starts at Paciullo Park next month.

The annual general meeting and team captains' gathering will be held at the Paciullo Park Clubhouse next Monday, January 30, 7pm.

Blackman said the men's open competition starts on Wednesday, February 8.

He said the mixed competition starts Monday, February 13 at 7pm.

"The new competitions run from February to late June," he said.

"The spring/summer competitions run from August until December. In the most recent competitions we had 300 registered players with 11 mixed teams and 17 men's teams."

Blackman said touch football was very popular among the junior and adult age groups and he was confident the sport would continue to flourish in 2012 and beyond.
