WESTS Tigers expect injured forwards Bryce Gibbs and Liam Fulton back on deck for this Saturday's night's qualifying final against the Sydney Roosters at the Sydney Football Stadium at 6.30pm.
The Tigers finished third on 34 points after the 26 premiership rounds, even though losing 21-18 to be in the final game of the regular season against Gold Coast Titans at Skilled Park on Friday night.
They went into the game without Gibbs (knee), Fulton (calf strain), Chris Lawrence (broken jaw), Geoff Daniela (hamstring) and fullback Wade McKinnon (hamstring tear).
"Gibbs and Fulton are almost certain to play against the Roosters," said Wests Tigers boss Stephen Humphreys.
"Daniela will also be available for selection while McKinnon is a 50-50 proposition."
Lawrence had surgery on his fractured jaw he sustained in the win over the Melbourne Storm at Leichhardt Oval 10 days ago.
The classy centre could return a week before the grand final if the Tigers are still in contention. Humphreys said Wests Tigers coach Tim Sheens aims to have the team primed for a big finals campaign.
The Tigers last played finals footy in 2005 winning their inaugural premiership that year defeating North Queensland 30-16 in the grand final. Sheens was coach.
By finishing in the top four the Tigers earned the right to play a home final at the SFS.
It is one of three venues at which they play home games. Their other two home-game venues are Campbelltown Sports Stadium and Leichhardt Oval.
Humphreys said they expected a big crowd for this Saturday's final dominated by Tigers' supporters, even though the SFS is also where the Roosters play home games.
Since the NRL formed in 1998 no team finishing lower than fourth after the premiership rounds has won a grand final.
