THE Bulldogs are back in training following the Christmas and New Year break and the trial games are nearing.
New coach Des Hasler will be preparing his squad for their trial game against the Sydney Roosters at Belmore Sportsground on Sunday, February 12, at 5pm.
The Dogs have shed a number of players from last season and added three new recruits to their 2012 squad.
The new signings are St Helens and England prop James Graham, former Melbourne, Souths and Newcastle winger Luke MacDougall, who has been playing with the Saracens Rugby Union Club in England and James Gavet from the New Zealand Warriors.
The club's departure lounge for this year is, Jamal Idris (Titans), Michael Hodgson (retired), Brad Morrin (retirement, Ben Roberts (Eels), Gary Warburton (retirement), Jarred Hickey, (Wakefield in British Super League), Adam Sezer (Titans), Andrew Ryan (retirement), Chris Armit (Panthers), Grant Millington (Castleford in British Super League). The Dogs have re-signed existing talent Corey Payne, Michael Ennis, Steve Turner, Ben Barba, Josh Morris, Bryson Goodwin and Michael Lett to extended deals.
One of the first moves Hasler made since arriving is appoint Michael Ennis as new skipper to replace the retired Andrew Ryan.
The NSW State of Origin hooker, 27, has been given the extra responsibility by Hasler.
The Dogs' opening NRL game is against Penrith on Saturday, March 3, at Centrebet Stadium, Penrith, 7.30pm.
