Spanish appeal

25 Jan, 2012 01:00 AM
LIVERPOOL City Library is calling on members of the Spanish community and all who speak Spanish to take part in a book selection meeting next month.

Feedback from the Spanish community is important to ensure that Liverpool Library's collection of Spanish materials continues to meet the needs of the community. After the submission of ideas, Liverpool Library will consider buying items in line with the policy of the library, which is one of the biggest in the southern hemisphere. Liverpool mayor Wendy Waller said the library was committed to providing a quality service that met the needs of the community.

"I encourage people from the Spanish-speaking community to attend this book selection meeting and contribute their ideas about items for the library's collection," she said.

Liverpool Library has a collection of more than 255,000 items, including items in 20 different languages.

Spanish Book Selection meeting, Liverpool City Library, 170 George Street, will be held from 10am to 1pm on Saturday, February 25.
