RADIO station 2UE has relaunched its programming with fresh talent and a dramatic scheduling shift to propel the broadcaster to new heights in 2011.
Starting this week, the shake-up introduces four new hosts across the bulk of 2UE's prime time week day schedule, including the appointment of long-standing radio personality Jason Morrison in the competitive breakfast slot.
In addition to Morrison's breakfast posting, controversial ex-politician, David Oldfield, will headline mornings, followed by former 4BC talent and Sydney-born and bred Michael Smith in the afternoon slot. Sky News host and former popular FM presenter, Paul Murray, seals the new line up as drive host.
"With new talent in four key shifts, this is the biggest change to 2UE's line-up in 25 years," said general manager of 2UE, Tim McDermott.
"We are opening the year with the strongest mix of announcers in Sydney and a long-term strategy to dominate as the number one talk-back station. Our new mix aims to skew slightly younger, bringing content that is relevant to a contemporary audience, whilst still appealing to our existing listeners."
Weekend rating linchpins 'The Two Murrays' move to the weekday late drive slot, 6-9pm.
