MACQUARIE Fields MP Andrew McDonald got a shock when he arrived at his Carnes Hill office on Friday the 13th. Parliamentary security staff had called him to warn him not to go into his office unaccompanied because someone had broken in at 7am.
The offender had forced through the front door and rummaged through drawers, cupboards and papers. Nothing was taken.
``If he can find stuff in my drawers he's welcome to it because I can't even find stuff in my drawers,'' Dr McDonald said.
``I suspect they were looking for the usual robbery stuff like cash or laptops or cameras, but we don't keep anything like that there.''
Detective Inspector Daniel Doherty, of Green Valley police, said the break-in was probably opportunist.
Police viewed video footage from Carnes Hill Marketplace that shows a man who might be able help the investigation. He was described as being of Caucasian appearance and aged18 to 30. He was wearing a checked hooded top, a black jacket with white horizontal stripes on the front, brown pants, black gloves and white runners.
He was seen leaving the scene in a white car driven by another man.
