WHEN Chauntelle Ison bought Baker's Delight in January, she fell in love.
The passionate horse lover from Rossmore described the mare as delightful, timid and shy. But when she went to check on her at a paddock in Luddenham on Wednesday, August 18, Baker's Delight was gone.
``I've put flyers up,'' Ms Ison said. ``I've doorknocked within a 20-kilometre radius of where she's gone missing from. I've covered a pretty big area thinking maybe she's just gone for a bit of a stroll. Maybe someone's put her in a paddock for safekeeping, but my suspicions are that she's been stolen.''
Baker's Delight, so named because she was the delight of her previous owner, a baker, has no distinctive markings apart from being bow-legged at the front.
``Someone could cut off or dye her sun-bleached mane and tail, but they can't change her front legs,'' Ms Ison said. ``I would just love to have her back, no questions asked. If someone's done it out of spite or whatever for something, well, they've succeeded. Now it's time to just bring her home.''
Ms Ison said she would be happy to receive an anonymous call and for Baker's Delight to be tied to a fence somewhere. If you have seen Baker's Delight, call Camden police on 46550599.
