MILLER Library has finally reopened to the public after relocating to Miller Shopping Centre.
The council-owned library has been closed since June last year after several incidents of "anti-social behaviour" in and around the library.
Liverpool Council general manager Farooq Portelli said the library would be a community hub with resources and new equipment for residents to use.
"The new Miller Library will have all the essential parts of a library in a community-based environment," he said.
"The new Miller Library will be equipped with six new computers for public use as well as free Wi-Fi access for users who have their own Wi-Fi enabled devices."
Liverpool mayor Wendy Waller said the new library space in the shopping centre would also have study benches and a compressive collection including fiction for children, teenagers and adults.
She said it included DVDs, CDs, magazines, daily newspapers as well as a reference collection.
If a resource is not available, residents can place a request with the library staff to borrow the resource from another of the council's libraries.
David Tuxford from Liverpool Council said there would be a call for expressions of interest from local community groups who are interested in applying to use the old Miller Library facility.
"Council is in the process of clearing the old Miller library and estimate it will be vacant in the next few weeks," he said.
